I have bundled together a few of my favourite financial literacy resources to help you start your financial literacy unit! I use the key terms list and have students describe each term in their own words to see their understanding going into the unit. Then I move to the Payment Forms work packet where students will learn about different payment methods and when they are most suitable. I then move to the Calculating The Cost work packet where students learn to add decimals, calculate tax and complete word problems. I then introduce a grocery budgeting project. This resource is aligned to the Ontario Math Curriculum for grade 5.
