Description

Help children increase their memory, visual perception, and focus, while having fun playing an animal matching game.

Object of the Game:

To find all the matching pairs of cards.

Target Age:
3-6 years

Number of Players:

1-4

Set Up:
1st - Print the card sheets or individual cards (card stock will make it more durable).
2nd - Use a glue stick to attach the fronts and backs of the cards.
3rd - Cut out the individual cards. Laminate if you want more durability.

Place all cards facing downwards with the orange monkey facing up. Before the game begins, players choose whether they want a player to get an additional turn if s/he makes a pair. If players choose to play this way, it could lead to a very lopsided game if one player is more skilled than the other.
How to Play:
The first player selects two cards and flips them over. If the animals are the same s/he gets to keep the matching pair. When all the cards have been matched, the game is over. Time to count, the player with the most matches wins!

Easier Version:
It is best to have an adult supervise if this game is challenging for a child. An easier version is to have the child keeps the cards face up once they have been chosen. You could also play with less animal pairs.
