Description
This winter-themed slope worksheet provides structured practice finding slope from graphs and graphing points to determine slope. Students complete 12 problems designed to build confidence with slope as a rate of change while reinforcing coordinate plane skills.
In the first six problems, students analyze a given graph, identify two points on the line, and calculate the slope. In the second six problems, students graph the given points and then find the slope of the resulting line. Several problems require students to simplify (reduce) slopes, helping reinforce fraction skills alongside linear relationships.
A second version of the worksheet is included for students who struggle with identifying points on a line. This modified copy provides additional structure and support, making it easier for students to accurately read coordinates before calculating slope. To help teachers differentiate for students who have trouble finding points on a line.
After solving each problem, students use their answers to crack a winter-themed riddle, adding engagement and motivation without sacrificing mathematical rigor. This activity works well as independent practice, a review day, early finisher work, or a low-prep winter math activity.
Riddle Answer:
