Description

Perfect for back to school, this resource keeps your students engaged while you tend to first-day paperwork! Students find the fraction, decimal, and percentage of vowels and consonants in their names and draw a pie graph to show the data. Instruct students to use first AND last names in order to generate the best fractions. Students complete the top half while referencing the bottom half for directions and an example (allowing them to work independently). Then simply fold the paper in half and stand up to display the name (use cardstock for best results).

I really liked this as a first day activity. ONLY issue - some of my students followed the example and ONLY used the consonants/vowels in the example. Also, I should have informed students to use first and last name - especially Jack and John and Pam, etc.
