Description

Start your school year strong with these easy-to-use Name Tent One-Pagers — the perfect first day activity for building classroom community and learning student names!

Learning students’ names has always been tricky for me. I used to get so nervous during the first two weeks, afraid I would make simple mistakes and risk disengaging the very students I wanted to connect with.

That's why I started using printed name tents — and it changed everything! I even took it a step further: snapping a quick photo of each student holding their Name Tent One-Pager on day one. By day two, I knew everyone's name and a little bit about them!

This resource gives you everything you need to do the same — but with a fun twist. Students fill out a 1 pager about themselves using one of three provided templates, combining their name with personal touches like interests, favorite books, and fun facts.

What’s Included:

  • 3 ready-to-print name tent templates
  • Instructions directly on the templates
  • Perfect for use with markers, colored pencils, or flair pens
  • Easy system for creating seating charts throughout the year

How to Use:

  • Print on thick cardstock for durability
  • Have students decorate their Name Tent One-Pager during your first day activity
  • Take quick photos to help memorize names faster
  • Keep the name tents in use for quick reminders and classroom management

Bonus:
These name tents aren't just for the first week — they're a handy tool for flexible seating, group work, and conferences all year long!

From the Reviews of this top-rated product:

"I use these with all my classes on the first day. Kids enjoy making and I love looking at them while learning their names."

"My students have loved this resource. I am glad I found it and can't wait to teach it again to the students. High engagement!"

"Loved all of the options - as a former HS teacher this is fantastic, as a current elem. librarian using the digital template with intermediate students was helpful in learning about several hundred students. "

Digital and PDF versions available for online learning and classroom use.
