Behavior Rocks is a classroom routine and behavior management system that develops a "Rock" for common Classroom Routines! Each Behavior Rock combines a Rhyming Chant, a Rocking Action, and a Clearly Taught Behavior Procedure!!
Once a Behavior Rock is taught and practiced all it takes is one rhyming chant from the teacher and the students Rock right through the Behavior Strategy!
Implementation:
1. Print and Display the 2 First Grade Pose Posters.
2. Teach and practice "First Grade Pose". First Grade Pose is the BEHAVIORAL PROCEDURE. See included poster: Eyes on teacher, feet on floor, and hands on legs.
3. Teach the Rhyming Chant: "Toes, Toes, Toes"!
4. Teach the Rocking Action: WIGGLE YOUR TOES!
5. Combined its a BEHAVIOR ROCK!
6. To get the students on-task SIMPLY follow the BEHAVIOR ROCK!!
Chant "Toes....toes...toes...First Grade Pose!" Students will stop what they are doing, chant with you, give their toes a quick wiggle and then ROCK into First Grade Pose!!
