Do you need visual reminders for math strategies to use during virtual instruction, to post in your classroom or to print for your students' interactive math notebooks? This First Grade Math Focus Wall for Understanding Addition can be used as a teaching tool as you introduce new vocabulary and math strategies and students can reference the wall as a reminder of what has been taught. Print on cardstock and laminate to display in your classroom. Display during virtual instruction via Google slides or Screen Share in Zoom. Print on a smaller scale for students to place in their interactive math notebooks. You may cut the cards apart so that you can display however you choose.

11 Vocabulary words with definitions and pictures: equals, join, in all, whole, inside, outside, part, double, sum, addition sentence, add, plus signs, addends and order

I can statements with pictures: I can recognize the number of objects in some patterns without counting. I can recognize parts of 6, 7, 8, and 9. I can write addition sentences to find the whole. I can write addition sentences to solve stories about joining. I can add in any order. I can use objects to solve story problems.
