Description

This Measurement packet for first grade uses nonstandard units to practice measuring objects. The worksheets have students comparing and ordering objects by height and length, and measuring objects using blocks and paper clips. Students will see some of the same objects in different sheets for an opportunity to see how different units affect the measurement of that object.

At the end of the unit, use the included assessments to measure progress and understanding.

The answer keys are a tool for reviewing after the test, which is always good practice!

This source gave me several ways to introduce measurement using different units of measurement. The practice helped them to see how important it is to have an agreed upon unit for everyone to get the same answer.
