Description
Help your kids learn to write using this super fun writing package! This package includes over 20 writing prompts to work with in the different stages of the writing process. This packet covers common core state standards w.1.1, w.1.2 and w.1.5.
Prewriting:
Use the topic provided or come up with your own topic and have your kids just start writing whatever pops into their heads about that subject. This will help them get everything out of their heads before they start to organize. I have included two different ways to do this-1. Just writing on the lines. 2. I have included a graphic organizer.
Writing:
Have your kids use the prewriting to come up with sentences about the subject. At this stage, they do not have to be perfect, they can proof read and fix things later. Have them use the editing poster to check their work. My kiddos needed more space to make sentences, so I also included an extended writing paper for each prompt.
Final Draft:
Have the kiddos use the writing they did in the last step and fix all of their grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes. Also, have them add a main idea and closing sentence to their paragraph. Have them share with the class!
Enjoy and please leave some feedback when you get a chance!
