Description
Save yourself lots of planning time with this complete and detailed First Steps lesson plan and Google Slides presentation! The plan follows Feierabend's music workout from the curriculum including pitch exploration, song fragments (echo songs), simple songs, arioso, movement exploration, movement for form and expression, beat motions and song tales.
Age Level
This plan may be used with 1st and 2nd grade. Units in this series will have call and response songs, which younger students might find too challenging.
Google Slides
The slides feature a brief description of the activity and a link to a YouTube video of the song if applicable. I have also included some personal a cappella recordings to help students learn songs where a professional recording is unavailable. They are colorful and engaging, and can help with tracking where you are in the lesson. All of the slides are editable and rearrangeable to fit your needs.
They also make great sub plans on their own!
Lesson Plan Features:
- Unit outline and content tracker to keep track of what material your students have done
- National standards, goals and "I Can" statements
- List of materials ordered by part of the music workout and links to where materials can be purchased
- Detailed, day by day procedures for each part of the music workout
- Assessment suggestions
- Additional notes from me on implementation
