Description

Teaching children to memorize meaningful words while they are simultaneously learning letter names and sounds is a magic recipe I have discovered for teaching children how to read easily, naturally, and as if by magic.

For these flashcards, I carefully selected words that have not only meaning that young children will connect to but some type of motion as well. I also created a font that reflects the way teach children to write. With big bold letters and a different color for each word, children will memorize not only the meaning of the word, but the shape of it as well. This works really well for visual learners.

When children memorize words while learning letter names and sounds, they are cementing a very simple concept in their brains that the letters that they are learning about that have a name and a sound are used to makes sounds come together to form words and those words have meaning. Teaching this concept at as young of an age as possible (I recommend six months) is absolutely the key to unlocking the code that allows children to learn how to read easily and naturally.
