This First/Then Board is the perfect product to be used in the home. A First/Then board provides a visual depiction of the series of events (ex. first clean-up, then dessert) and helps to set-up behavior expectations. Additionally, it is a great tool to help with "waiting." Some learners may engage in problem behaviors when told "no" or "later." However, with the use of the First/Then board, a learner can see that there is not a permanent denial of access, just delayed.
When setting up a schedule, you will naturally reinforce less-preferred activities with more-preferred activities. Therefore, the completion of something not-so preferred (ex. cleaning) is naturally reinforced by (ex. eating dessert) afterwards.
