Description

A great activity for math centers and differentiation. You can give this fun math puzzle to high kindergarteners or first graders.This is a math puzzle activity where students put together a fish with all the facts adding up to the number on the head of the fish and the the word number on the tail. For example, the fish head has a 8 and the body of the fish are facts that equal eight and the tail had the word eight. You can make this activity self checking by writing the answer on the back of each fish piece. Print on card stock, laminate for durability and put it out for kids to use. This comes with a cut and paste worksheet that can be used for additional practice or assessment.
Common core standards
CCSS.Math.Content.1.OA.C.5 Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
CCSS.Math.Content.K.OA.A.2 Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem.
