Description

Word problems can be extremely difficult for elementary-age students. These simple steps (in the form of a handy poster) can be printed out, laminated, and hung on the wall to help students break down complicated word problems into a simpler task. By following these easy steps, students will increase their chances of understanding the word problem as well as getting the correct answer.

Just print the poster of your choice (in either black and white or color) on white, cardstock. Laminate for durability and continual use. You can also print multiple copies on plain, white copy paper if you desire to use as student handouts or for journals/notebooks. Demonstrate the strategies to your students and then display in a convenient location near the front of your classroom so that your student's can refer to it easily and regularly.
