Description
I always love teaching about the use of flashback in short stories. I find students have difficulty with the transition into and out of their flashback. In order to help, I created this light hearted example of how an author might use an object to trigger a flashback or memory in the main character. It is color coded for: HOOK, BACKGROUND INFO, TRANSITIONS, etc. Enjoy the freebie!

Great resource
Needed a quick example for students & this was great!
I used this in small group to give my students extra practice in identifying flashbacks. Was great practice.
This is an effective resource for students and easy to implement in the classroom!
This resource was very helpful when reviewing, thank you!
Needed examples to put together with my unit. Worked for me and my students
Thanks so much. I copied the original and changed the font to all black. I will have my students work to identify the important elements in the story before showing the original. Think this will be great practice for them.
Great review for my students!
