Flashback Short Story Example
Share

Description

I always love teaching about the use of flashback in short stories. I find students have difficulty with the transition into and out of their flashback. In order to help, I created this light hearted example of how an author might use an object to trigger a flashback or memory in the main character. It is color coded for: HOOK, BACKGROUND INFO, TRANSITIONS, etc. Enjoy the freebie!

Thanks so much. I copied the original and changed the font to all black. I will have my students work to identify the important elements in the story before showing the original. Think this will be great practice for them.
