Build a Flower: Spring Visual Discrimination Patterning Activity
This is a hands-on math center perfect for a spring or gardening theme in a Preschool or Kindergarten classroom. I bet you already have the materials needed for this activity, as it is very versatile. Material options included: gems, mini erasers, circle counters, magnetic chips with magnet wands, pom pom balls, buttons, bingo chips, stickers or other rainbow colored small manipulatives.
These flower visual discrimination cards and activity mats are fun for students to copy the pattern or design on the card to match their flower using manipulatives.
Students will look at the card, and match the 15 colorful circles on their empty flower mat. There are 40 unique task cards plus a task box cover card - using 6 colors: red, orange, white, green, blue, and purple.

- task cards print 4 to a page in color only
- 6 Build a Flower Mats (4 color and 2 black/white)
- 3 have have white circles for matching (pink, purple and white)

Add these cards with your pom pom balls (or manipulative of choice) for a quick set up for math centers, small groups or task box independent work this spring. Students will love decorating their flowers and copying the patterns.
