Product Description

Math Fluency Practice
Horizontal AND Vertical Equations on every page
Easily Adaptable (i.e. easy to have a student only complete half of the problems)

*These work great as DRY-ERASE! Slide the paper into a sheet protector (or worse case scenario, a large ziploc bag) and give the student a dry erase marker to complete the page! The tactile interaction alone can increase retention!

RESOURCE INCLUDES:

  • Self Progress Chart: Number Correct
  • Self Progress Chart: Completion Time (also includes Goal Setting)
  • 11 Multiplication Practice Pages: Sums Within 10 Level 1
  • 11 Multiplication Practice Pages: Sums Within 10 Level 2
  • 11 Multiplication Practice Pages: Sums Within 20 Level 1
  • 11 Multiplication Practice Pages: Sums Within 20 Level 2
  • Answer Cards for each set

HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Students develop strategies and utilize sheets to identify which strategies they plan to use for the various problems. Then complete the full set of problems while timer runs up (i.e. counts total time); follow by documenting time and accuracy. Then use the goal sheet to set goals. First and foremost emphasis should be on strategies and accuracy...then once accuracy is developed, focus on time reduction. Also note, having the students check their own answers yields a higher rate of retention. Bonus, have the students analyze any problems they missed to pinpoint their error.

ADDITIONAL OPTION: Establish time allowed for completion, students attempt to complete as many as possible during the allotted time. As a math specialist, I have found this option to be, on average, less productive and in some cases hinder progress. Much research shows that when timed assessments can create the wrong level of pressure and actually cause significant, long-term challenges. But this would be a great adaptation for students that benefit from a different approach, or as a challenge.

Thank you so much for checking out my resource!
