This freebie is completely adaptable to the needs of your kinders.
In my classroom, we are currently using the Fly Swatter Swat as a whole group activity on the SMARTBoard to practice segmenting CVC words into onset and rime (VA SOL K.4d). Students are called to the board to segment the pictured word--pig, p-ig. If students segment the word correct, they can "swat" the fly.
Some other skills that you could target with this fun activity would be: to produce a rhyming word and identify a word with similar beginning/ending sound.
This file can be used with your interactive whiteboard or as a fun station/center activity.
