**New Product - 50% through 9-15** An activity for students learning single digit addition. The students must match up the sum to the addition problem to form a 4 x 4 grid.
There are three different addition puzzles that each come with three different versions for a total of nine puzzles. The different versions of the puzzle vary in the number of graphics that are included. One version includes 4, one includes 9, and one includes 16 graphics. Download the preview file for a better understanding. As the number of graphics increases so does the difficulty as it doesn't aid the students in putting the puzzle together as much. This allows for differentiation amongst ability groups.
Directions: Print out the game board on cardstock and have it laminated . Cut out the sixteen pieces and pass them out to individual students or to a group of students. The students must match up the sum with the addition problem to complete the 4 x 4 grid. What has been successful for me is to give points for correctly completing the puzzle, and extra credit points for the first few groups that finish. The Roman numerals are there so that you may check the accuracy faster, particularly on the puzzles with more graphics
We are continuing to add more elementary level holiday and seasonal puzzles like this one, so be sure to check back. Also, check out or Facebook page TeamGurgal Teaching Resources for giveaways and announcements!
