Serve up fractions - printable and digital versions! These resources focus on equal parts and describing parts of a whole.
Digital Files Included:
-PowerPoint file (28 interactive slides)
-Google slides link to share with students (without fear of editing the same version)
-FAQs in Google Slides to send to parents
-All Google slides activities (with movable pieces) were transferred over to Seesaw lessons! 28 interactive slides are split up into 7 lessons in Seesaw. To access, you simply click the links given and add to your activities library! Engaging SafeShare videos embedded in introductory lessons.
Fractions of a Whole Activities:
-Introduction: Give Me Half! Read aloud video (filtered through SafeShare) to introduce concept of fair shares, equal parts and half.
-Fraction Diner - "Serving up equal parts only!" Two slides of diner foods for students to "cut in half" by dragging and dropping lines to show equal parts.
-Equal vs. Unequal - Condensed, Safeshare video to model equal vs. unequal parts. Sorting Game has moveable shapes cut into either equal or unequal parts.
-Making Halves & Fourths - Students divide given shapes into halves or fourths by dragging and dropping line segments.
- Labeling Pizzas- Drag and drop labels to identify halves, thirds and fourths.
- Describing Pizza Fractions - Students describe the toppings on four pizzas by dragging and dropping numbers or fractions in blanks. Ex. One ____ has pineapple. ___ out of ___ has mushrooms.
- Fraction Fill In - Six slides to practice filling in a fraction of a given shape (ex. Make two thirds of the trapezoid green). Shapes given for students to fill in. Number balloons given for students to fill in blanks on fractions (___ out of ___ is left white.)
- Fraction Dominoes- Students complete the game by dragging and dropping the missing fractions to match their picture.
- Color by Code - Uncover a secret picture by covering with colored tiles (or using highlighter tool in Seesaw)
- Show What You Know (Parts of a Whole)- Students drag and drop answers in the 12 task cards.
Fractions of a Set:
-Describing Donut Fractions - Drag and drop number balloons to fill in the blanks of the fraction to match the box of donuts.
-Fill Donut Orders - Read the fraction order (example: 2 out of 3 are chocolate) and drag the right donuts in the box. Four orders in all!
Printable Activities to BUILD mastery of fractional parts:

* Equal vs. Unequal Game Board (in color & b/w!)
* Making Fractions - Divide given shapes into halves & fourths.

Students "show what they know" with either a QR Code Hunt or "Around the Room" style activity with printable task cards.
*QR Codes are linked to vibrant images for students to show mastery of describing fractional parts (focusing on halves and fourths). All YOU need is an electronic device to scan QR codes and a Google account. The images are shared through Google Drive and may require a log in.
