Fraction, Decimal, Percent Conversion Initial Activity
Share

Description

This is a great way for students to practice converting between fractions, decimals, and percents using a visual representation. Students are given a 10 by 10 grid and are asked to first color their initials (each box should only be one color). After they color their initials they will color the background, using a total of 5 colors. After completely coloring the grid, students will then figure out the decimal, fraction and percent of each color in their grid. All students sheet should look different so they will be completing this on their own. You are able to walk around while they are completing this to make sure they are able to convert between fractions, decimals and percents.

After students have completed the activity, you can hang them in the room too!

This could be used in class while teaching/reviewing fractions, decimals and percents or as an activity for those students that finish early.
