Help students develop a deeper understanding of fractions, equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents with this engaging Fractions, Decimals, and Percents Flip Book resource!

This printable math activity includes two versions of a fraction flip book—a scaffolded option and an open-ended option—making it easy to differentiate instruction for a variety of learners.

Both flip books feature:

  • A fraction-decimal-percent equivalency chart
  • Fraction strips/bars for comparing fractional amounts
  • Opportunities to explore and identify equivalent fractions
  • Visual supports that strengthen fraction sense and number relationships
  • Black & white as well as color versions

Fractions included are

  • 1/2
  • 1/3
  • 1/4
  • 1/5
  • 1/6
  • 1/7
  • 1/8
  • 1/9
  • 1/10
  • 1/12

Scaffolded Fraction Flip Book

The scaffolded version guides students through creating visual models by shading:

  • An area model
  • A set model

This option is ideal for students who are building foundational fraction concepts and need additional support with visual representations.

Open-Ended Fraction Flip Book

The open-ended version encourages students to demonstrate their understanding by creating their own:

  • Fraction visual models
  • Set models
  • Fraction circle representations

Included is the option to provide students with circles with tick marks around the circumference, providing a structure students can use to create accurate fraction models. This version is perfect for students who are ready for more independent thinking and deeper conceptual understanding.

Each page is designed to be ½ inch longer than the previous page, allowing students to view and compare all fraction strips simultaneously once assembled.

Also included is an open-ended shortened version featuring only 1/2, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, 1/10, and 1/12 for quicker implementation or targeted instruction.

Perfect For:

  • Fraction units
  • Equivalent fractions practice
  • Fractions, decimals, and percents lessons
  • Math centers
  • Interactive notebooks
  • Small-group instruction
  • Math intervention
  • Differentiated math activities
  • Upper elementary and middle school math classrooms

This hands-on fraction resource helps students make meaningful connections between fractions, decimals, percents, and visual models while building long-term conceptual understanding.
