Description

5 days of standardized test prep for 4th grade fraction concepts. Each day has a class review slideshow that covers fractions, mixed numbers, and decimals. There's also a "Problem of the Day" to help students with critical thinking and math reasoning. Each day's slideshow review should take anywhere from 15-30min depending on the speed at which your students work through the independent practice problems. Teacher observation sheets allow you to keep track of which students struggle with specific skills during the review so you know who needs more help before the test. The slideshows are in PDF format so they will work great on any computer you have. Answer keys are included for the "Your Turn" student questions included in each slideshow.

What's Included:
Day 6 Slideshow: Equivalent Fractions
Day 7 Slideshow: Comparing & Ordering Fractions
Day 8 Slideshow: Operations with Fractions (add, subtract, multiply, & simplify)
Day 9 Slideshow: Mixed Numbers (convert to improper, add, & subtract)
Day 10 Slideshow: Decimals (convert to fractions, compare, and order)
~Teacher Observation Sheets & Answer Keys for each slideshow.~

Explain why a fraction 𝘢/𝘣 is equivalent to a fraction (𝘯 × 𝘢)/(𝘯 × 𝘣) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators, e.g., by creating common denominators or numerators, or by comparing to a benchmark fraction such as 1/2. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
Understand a fraction 𝘢/𝘣 with 𝘢 > 1 as a sum of fractions 1/𝘣.
