Description

If you are in need of an extension activity, early finisher project, or whole class challenge for your 5th grade students, then this project is for you.

This real world math project was designed to help students apply their math knowledge. In this project, students estimate what their home remodel will cost them. They then make decisions based on their budget and personal style to fix up their house. Some parts of the remodel are mandatory, while other enhancements are optional. This gives students control over their own project. At the end, there is a reflection page for them to complete.

I was out for 2 days and had my students complete this while I was gone. They had a great time using math in a real-life experience where they got to imagine their own future house. They all were blown away at how expensive driveways are!
