Converting fractions, decimals and percents is a very important skill in math. I introduce 16-20 benchmark conversions that students should memorize. This activity is a great timed review test for middle/high school students at every level. I give my students one or two minutes to fill in as many conversions as they can. We repeat the activity once a week for 12 weeks. Each week the students graph their results so that they can track their accomplishments. Once a student is able to fill in the entire sheet within the allotted time I have them write down how much time was left on the clock. Beating their amount of time left then becomes their new challenge.
I have the students store their graph in their interactive notebooks on the opposite page of their converting notes. This is an activity my students look forward to every week.
