Notebook and task cards are solid!

Great value

Loved the notebook and task cards. The notebook pages at the very beginning were visually overwhelming and confusing for my kiddos to cut out and organize; however, once we moved past those, the rest of the notebook was great- our favorite resources were the fraction fold activities. Task cards were great at stretching students’ thinking and providing rigorous fraction application and a deeper level of understanding. The game provided was of little value for my students. It’s just a basic matching game that requires no understanding and very little skill practice. Students need to name which image or word (fruit name, not fraction vocabulary words) match on cards. If a student points at the match, instead of at least naming the fraction -or names the chocolate or lemon or lime as matching, it requires no mathematical thinking whatsoever. Cute idea, but not a good use of instructional time.

I will have to update the directions on the game because that's definitely not how I have my kids play it. Thank you for the detailed feedback! If you try it again, require students to also name the fraction. I'm sorry that wasn't clear but I'm so thankful you let me know so that I can update the directions. Best, Meredith
