Know Your Fractions – Complete Conceptual Understanding Bundle

Overview: The Know Your Fractions bundle consists of task cards designed to enhance students' understanding of various fractional concepts.

These cards focus on key skills such as converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers, simplifying fractions, and recognizing equivalent fractions.


Skills Developed:

  • Fluency in converting fractions
  • Simplifying fractions
  • Adding and subtracting fractions
  • Recognizing various visual representations of fractions

Concept Switch: This feature challenges students to mentally switch between different fractional concepts on each card, promoting deeper understanding and higher-level thinking.


Included Fractional Concepts:

  • Numerator and denominator
  • Parts of a whole
  • Number line representation
  • Fractions in words
  • Fraction of a group
  • Decimals (Level 2)
  • Percentages (Level 2)

Contents:

  • 88 cards (84 task cards, 1 title card per set)
  • 120 questions
  • Student recording sheets
  • Answer keys
  • Complete PDF and individual PNG files of the cards

Instructions:

  1. Print, laminate, and cut the individual cards.
  2. Print student sheets and provide each student with a worksheet.
  3. Distribute the cards around the room or in a math center. Students can start at any card and work in any order, but they should write answers in the corresponding numbered box (e.g., card 12 answers in box 12).
  4. Check answers using the answer keys provided.

Usage: These cards are perfect for task card activities, math centers, or rotations, allowing flexible implementation in the classroom.
