Description

I use this lab in my Physical Science class after I have taught gravity, free fall, air resistance, and terminal velocity. There are two different versions of the lab so you can choose what works best for your students. This lab typically takes my students 15-20 minutes for the short version and 45-50 minutes for the long version.

For this lab you will need:

  • Various objects to drop
  • A tall place to drop them from (I stand on my desk)

I do this lab as a "demonstration" but you could do it in pairs with enough explanation.

This resource will come to you in the form of a Google Doc. You can edit the documents to your needs and share them with your students. You will be able to easily integrated the resources into your Learning Management System.

This was a great inquiry based lab to introduce topics of free fall acceleration and gravity!
