Free and Fun Writing that's aligned to standards! Who knew explanatory writing could be so fun?! This NO-PREP printable or Google Slides step-by-step writing activity guides students through the process of coming up with a topic to brag about it in a fun way, writing similes, writing hyperbole, getting to see an awesome sample, and then incorporating everything into their very own bragging & boasting written description. It's amazing you get this for FREE!

Great for easing student back into writing at back-to-school time while everyone gets to know each other in a no-threat, relaxing, fun way. Also nice at the end of the year, or just any time you want to lighten things up and get kids interacting positively.

Also, check out my blog post "Writing About Me Using Simile and Hyperbole" if you want to see an example of the finished product & idea for holding a bragging and boasting contest.

PROMOTES ACTIVE PARTICIPATION

You can even ask students to read their bragging stories out loud at the end, and it will not be boring at all! They will be proud to share their work. I have even done a "brag and boast contest" in which students entered theirs into a contest, and then I read those who submitted them aloud (anonymously), and then students voted on the biggest bragger. It was fun.
