They are printed 2-up and it is suggested that you cut them in half. You can use the stapled booklet to document the learning progression from describing, copying, extending, to creating patterns. Students can practice making train patterns and/or tower patterns.

Alternative Ideas:

• Have students create ABC pattern trains and see how long they can build a train. Have them build another ABC pattern train and compare the two trains. They could build a third train and put them in order from smallest to tallest.
