Description

Students begin by typing in their name so it appears on their screen at all times. This lab begins by having students add NaCl to a ice bath to get the temperature low enough to measuring the freezing point of cyclohexane. Students then measure out the cyclohexane, put in the ice bath, and measure the temperature change to record its freezing point. This is done for 2 trails. Students then perform 2 additional trials with an unknown added to the cyclohexane and measure the change in freezing point. The simulation collects all this data in a separate data tab and students are tasked with performing the calculations to determine the molar mass of the unknown and therefore its identity.
