Description
Put francophone cultures & diversity on the front and centre of your Core French classes with this French Music Unit (la musique). This creative French thematic unit goes far beyond any typical music unit out there and is made especially for the 21st Century French classroom. This unit is perfect for intermediate French students who have had at least two years of French class.
After completing this unit, your Core French students will have :
- Explored the origins of modern musical genres and their roots in Black history, as well as the contributions of Black artists to the music industry
- Learnt about famous francophone artists and created a foldable project on an artist of their choice
- Communicated orally and in writing their musical preferences
- read about the lives, careers and contributions of beloved and deceased francophone artists Charles Aznavour and Edith Piaf
- thoroughly explored francophone artists, French music and francophone cultures
- There are TWO different options included for the music video project (one easier, one harder) + two different rubrics in different styles
