Description

Friday Journals are an amazing tool to help with parent communication and student reflection.

Each Friday, students will reflect on their learning from the week and write a friendly letter to their parents, older sibling, or other family member and parents or another family member will then write back.

Included:
--Friday Journal Cover page
--Letter to Parents written from student point of view
--2 types of writing paper with areas for both student writing and parent writing (1 primary lined, 1 regular lined)

In my class, we first spend time learning about how to write a friendly letter. Then each Friday, we brain storm ideas about what we did and learned and I write some key words on the board based on what they share.

I hope that you enjoy this resource! Please email me at learningwithallegra@gmail.com if you have any questions :)

I think Friday Journals are a wonderful way to strengthen the communication between school and home. I've done there here and there during my 20+ years of teaching. Each year, parents tell me how much they appreciate having the collection of notes between them and their child at the end of the year.
