Description
This graph designed by Lou Ann Daniels can be used with Froot Loops cereal or a generic brand. Put fruit loops in baggies for students to graph. Students will complete the left side of the graph by writing the color words for the colors in their bag. This can be done in partners because they do not need to take the fruit loops out of the bag until the end. (At the end, they can split the fruit loops to share with their partner while they are still in the bag and it is a good review of odd or even.) They will then create a horizontal bar using colored pencils that corresponds to the amount they had of each color. The bar does not need to take up the entire space and can be done using a ruler if desired. The scale on the bottom counts by 2's therefore requiring the students to understand where 3, 5, 7 etc would be if it is not written there. The students use their graph to answer the questions on page 2. When copying this page, copy and cut apart vertically so that each student gets half a page. This activity aligns with the following common core standards: M.3.OA.1, M.3.MD.3, M.2.MD.10,
