Great fun activity for the last week or day of school, summer school, or back to school to work on listening and following directions. Looking for a fun way to target fine motor, visual perception, and following directions or listening skills? This resource includes both guided directed drawing activities and simple coloring pages, making it a versatile addition to classrooms and occupational therapy sessions! Students will strengthen their ability to follow multi-step directions while developing fine motor and drawing skills.

Designed to support visual perceptual skills, fine motor control, and listening skills, this resource provides guided step-by-step drawing activities alongside easy-to-use coloring pages. With a variety of prompts for all seasons and major holidays, students can engage in meaningful, skill-building activities year-round.

These no-prep activities are ideal for small groups, independent work, early finishers, or therapy sessions, offering a structured yet engaging way to reinforce essential skills. Whether in a classroom, homeschool, or occupational therapy setting, this resource makes practicing fine motor and visual perceptual skills both effective and fun!

These can be used as models for drawing activities or coloring pages, providing versatility in classroom applications. You can also make up your own directions or have the students write some for each other.

How to use this resource? Encourage students to visualize the drawing in their minds before starting, enhancing their mental imagery skills. Guide them through the step-by-step verbal directions, either revealing the picture as a model or waiting until the end for a surprise. This resource allows for variations, such as drawing with the non-dominant hand, drawing blindfolded, or even drawing over their head on cardstock or a paper plate.

Variations:

  • Hang simple pictures on the board for students to draw and color, promoting creative expression and storytelling.
  • Introduce opposite brain facilitation by having students draw with their non-dominant hand.
  • Foster a sense of challenge by having students draw blindfolded or with eyes closed, relying on their listening and tactile skills.
  • Facilitate group collaboration by having one student describe a picture for others to draw, promoting teamwork and communication.
  • Turn it into a narrative writing activity by having students write the directions for each other.
