Description

Get students excited about rhetoric and argumentative writing with fun, hands-on persuasive writing activities using ethos, pathos, logos! Designed to give middle or high school ELA practice with rhetorical appeals and rhetorical devices, 5 creative and interactive writing games will get students involved in their learning!

Whether you're teaching a rhetoric unit, prepping for argument writing, or looking for high-interest ELA bell ringers or writing centers, these activities make persuasive writing fun, relevant, and memorable!

This BUNDLE includes 5 games:

  1. "Save this Law" - Students develop an argument for saving a silly law and present to the class.
  2. "Complaint Letter" - Students write a fictional complaint letter to share the story behind a faulty object bought with unexpected results.
  3. "Salesperson" - Students will “sell” a random object to a random fictional group.
  4. "Emotion Letter" - Students will use their creativity to write a letter that combines a random object, emotion, and audience.
  5. "Nonprofit Letter" - Students will select and research a nonprofit organization and the "core" topic or issue and write a letter using rhetorical and persuasive techniques. Bonus - you can have students actually send their letters!
