Fun With Graphing works on the following Common Core Standard for First Grade:

Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.

The students love going to the SMARTBoard to put their information on each graph.

I also have student take out their small whiteboards to write questions about the graphs. When everyone is done writing, I pull out our class microphone. We pass the microphone around the room so everyone has a turn reading their questions to the class. Finally the class has to answer the questions as they are being asked. This helps the students understand if their questions are good questions and how they can make them better.
