Description

Instead of lecturing my students on function notation, as I used to do, I now start each class with a mini-lesson (15-20 minutes in length) to go over just one or two examples of what they will be learning about today.

As soon as the mini-lesson is over, I set them to task on this worksheet, which does a lot of "hand-holding" for them to get them through the tricky parts. I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are getting the purpose of the questions.

The file includes spiral review problems.

Students are expected to do their work on a separate sheet of graph paper.

Please download the pdf preview file first, so you can see exactly what's included; the product file is a word document, which you may personalize for your students.

Immediately before this worksheet, I use the worksheet named 'Equations and Inequalities Review Fall 2013' (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Equations-and-Inequalities-Review-Fall-2013-1106060), and immediately after this worksheet, I use the worksheet named 'Relations and Functions: Joey's Restaurant with Answer Key' (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Relations-and-Functions-Joeys-Restaurant-with-Answer-Key-495505)
