Description

100% editable!!! This worksheet practices writing a function rule given a function table. 5 questions contain tables that show the initial value (y-intercept) and 5 questions contain tables that do not show the initial value (y-intercept). Students can extend the table to find the initial value or plug in the rate of change and a point from the table to y=mx+b to solve for b. This worksheet uses a Kagan-like strategy - Sage and Scribe. Students rotate roles each problem. One student explains how to do it (sage) and the other student does the writing (scribe). This activity allows students to coach each other while staying actively engaged in a simple worksheet.

Construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities. Determine the rate of change and initial value of the function from a description of a relationship or from two (𝘹, 𝘺) values, including reading these from a table or from a graph. Interpret the rate of change and initial value of a linear function in terms of the situation it models, and in terms of its graph or a table of values.
