What math operation is the word problem - add or subtract? Functional math scenarios. This activity is great for special education students Distance or remote learning

This comes with:

  • 40 task cards total
    • 20 Task Cards Level 1 - Students are given a word problem that highlights the keywords and the math problem has the answer filled in for an additional clue to help determine if it is an addition or subtraction word problem.
    • 20 Task Cards Level 2 - Students are given a word problem to determine if it is an addition or subtraction word problem and they can also fill in the blank to solve the math problem.

  • Answer key
  • Numbered task cards for easy data collection. Download FREE progress monitoring/answer sheets for the task cards HERE..

Print Options:

  • Print, laminate, cut for long-term use and place into task box (instructions & task box recommendations provided with purchase).
  • Use clothes pins or a dry-erase marker to mark the correct answer.
  • Print as a worksheet (don't cut), students can mark their answers or use with answer sheet (free download included).

Digital Options:

  • Use the Tpt Easle feature to assign these to be filled out by students on a device through Google Classroom.
  • Upload PDF to Kami Extension App to write/type on.

This was a great resource. Simple. There are answer options to help students narrow down their final answer. The wording was simple and not too wordy or hard. Please make more!
