Now that I have used this resource a bit with my first graders I love it and plan to buy the rest. I copied the set with the application problem on one side and the exit ticket on the other. The students love working out the application problem on our white boards and sharing before we do the "journal problem" exit ticket on the other. Thanks for such a great product! Now I need to check out the 2nd grade one! (I teach a 1-2 split).

Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. For example, which of the following equations are true and which are false? 6 = 6, 7 = 8 - 1, 5 + 2 = 2 + 5, 4 + 1 = 5 + 2.
