• The students absolutely loved learning with this powerpoint! Very engaging!

• This was an amazing resource for my 6th graders!

• Very useful with my 7th graders.

• The students absolutely loved learning with this powerpoint! Very engaging!

This is an ANIMATED PowerPoint show (ppsx) that will help students learn measurement skills while using graduated cylinders. It is not editable.

Using graduated cylinders is fun! Pass along this fun skill to your students through this PowerPoint tutorial. Kids love the animations that are on most pages: the graduation points move up the cylinders, arrows point out the meniscus and numbers in equations, answers swirl, and more! Skills are built through animation and repetition. If one of my students needed more help, they loved reviewing this PowerPoint on their own.

Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l).1 Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.

Objective: Perform measurements using appropriate scientific tools (e.g., balances, microscopes, graduated cylinders).

TEKS 3-8 (A) : Scientific investigation and reasoning. The student knows how to use a variety of tools and methods to conduct science inquiry. The student is expected to ...
