I looked all over for a great text for Gandhi to use with MLK, Jr. Kids are always told how MLK was inspired by Gandhi, but the students are unsure who Gandhi was. This allowed me to partner with the MLK text to compare and contrast. I loved the vocab that was used as well.

Perfect for use during the unit I did on leaders for the month of February this year. My students were engaged and loved learning about a new person everyday. I supplemented with a YouTube video about the person as well before we started reading which was a great intro to the person of the day.
