Distance learning shouldn't only be writing and typing! Join me on my journey to activate the interactive portion of learning- with a sorting activity!
Everyone loves an activity- especially little geneticists in the making!
This simple, six-question sorting activity will have students reading a line of code, then comparing it to the mutated versions. Once they've identified which mutation it is (insertion, substitution, or deletion) they can drag the mutation boxes onto the squares they think they belong to!
The mutation boxes are a standard picture file, which is easily moved by students- but wait! How will they have access to move them?
There is a google classroom walkthrough on how to ensure that you give each student their own copy of the assignment, AND so that they have full access to drag and drop to their heart's content! Yay!
