Description
What is Genius Hour?
Genius Hour is also known as a Passion Project, where students are allowed to research a topic of their choice. It began at Google, where employees were able to work on a project of their own choosing 20% of the time.
I have taught Genius Hour for 5 years in my Gifted & Talented Classroom. This packet is intended for 2nd - 6th Grade. If I was a regular classroom teacher, I would do Genius Hour on Thursday or Friday for 1 hour (Social Studies).
We work on the project all year long and have a Genius Hour Presentation in the Spring. How you do presentations is up to you, I will share my experiences with you. I put this packet together after much trial and error. I hope this makes your life easier! Every child will need a journal/spiral/notebook.
As we dive deeper into the project, I will add more to this packet.
