About the store

I have been teaching for 19 years. My career began as a maternity leave substitute in 1st grade, then moved me to 3rd grade for 2 years. When I switched schools I was placed in 2nd grade. In the past 17 years I have spent 15 of them in 2nd grade, 1 in 3rd and 1 in first. I believe my experience in 1st and 3rd have helped to mold me as the best 2nd grade teacher I can be. I have a computer literacy endorsement on my license and some Special Ed training.

Experience

Teaching style

I can't get enough of new research and old style. I love my students unconditionally and think of them as part pf my family. I love using technology and new ideas. I will try anything at least once. My classroom is a structured home to many free choice activities, lots of cooperative learning, and usually lots of fun. I believe in Intentional activities and the 6 standards of Effective Pedagogy. This means that I believe in student voice/student choice, as well as collaborative work and helping kids understand that they CAN make a difference in our world.
