5 days of reading response worksheets for the wonderful Geos book, Library Cat!

• 3 pages of scaffolded multiple choice questions about details and events
• 3 pages of phonics/grammar skills practice that follow the Fundations scope and sequence
• 3 pages with writing prompts
• Retell practice

The questions you find in these response pages are adapted from the Level 1 Geos Teachers Guide.

We felt a need in our classroom for some independent and partner work opportunities with Geos books, so we created this reading response structure!

Suggestions for Use:

⭐️ Geos are excellent for repeated reading. Usually the first read of this book is teacher read, or choral read. On the following days students reread with increasing independence (echo, partner reading, independent reading) and then work on answering these text-based questions.

➡️ These reading response pages start concrete and highly scaffolded, and become more abstract and less scaffolded with each reading.

➡️ The Fundations-based "word hunt" tasks on these worksheets have really helped motivated our struggling readers to go back and re-read.

➡️ In our class, students to paste their "reading work" pages into a reading journal and we discuss them in groups or with partners.

Our worksheets are sold as Google Slides so they are fully editable.
