Description
This worksheet is designed for the first day of the spring semester of my Geometry class. I want to establish that we will "do math" on the first day, but I also need time to show my students how to access my online syllabus, take the online syllabus quiz, and so forth.
This worksheet encourages students to work together. It takes 15-30 minutes for them to complete it, and I've found it's a nice way to start of the semester.
I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are getting the purpose of the questions.
The file includes some review/reference information (in the gray boxes) and spiral review problems. I have found that shading key information in gray helps my students study for quizzes and tests later.
This worksheet is intended to be written on directly.
Please download the pdf preview file first, so you can see exactly what's included; the product file is a word document, which you may personalize for your students.
Because this is the first assignment of the spring semester, I just finished with the first semester final exam named 'Geometry Final Exam Fall 2013; multiple-choice; 2 versions; with key' (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Geometry-Final-Exam-Fall-2013-multiple-choice-2-versions-with-key-1270061), and immediately after this worksheet, I use the worksheet named 'Simplifying Radicals for Geometry Spring 2014' (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Simplifying-Radicals-for-Geometry-Spring-2014-1266656)
