Description

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Are you also in a geometry unit right now? Check out this holiday theme and geometry mash up! Builders (The students) are given building regulations they must obey in order to create their gingerbread house. The building regulations include shape names and shape attributes. (Ex: The front door has to have one set of parallel sides).

INCLUDED:

  • Directions ("building regulations")
  • Presentation/final product sheet for students to draw or cut & glue their shapes on

Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals).
