Description

This is two sets of 24 EDITABLE geometry task cards specifically aligned to standards 3.G.1 and 3.G.2 of the third grade math curriculum (for Common Core). This is a total of 48 task cards that address quadrilaterals and partitioning shapes into equal areas.

**This includes Google Slides options.

Although this was designed for the 3rd grade, it could also be easily utilized in 2nd or 4th grade for differentiation.

There are a VARIETY of problems for each standard. This is important because an end-of-year test is not going to address one standard with just one type of question.

Click on the preview to see some of the multiple ways these cards could be used.

This product also includes a recording sheet, answer key, way to track data, title cards to organize, and a black/white version.

I also have a homework pack specific to geometry (3.G.1) in the 3rd grade.

Additionally, I offer a geometry math unit which includes the homework from above along with lesson plans, exit slips, and practice/enrichment sheets to go with each lesson. Both are below:

Task cards are one of my go-tos for math centers. I can use them as a sit-down activity, or I can post around the room to get students up and moving. These were minimal prep - just print, mount on card stock and laminate. Now I can use them for years to come. Students were very engaged, and their answer sheets gave me quick feedback on what I needed to reteach.

Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
